DICHROIC SHORT- AND LONG-PASS MIRRORS
In demanding laser material processing applications, a pilot laser is often used in addition to the main laser. This is used to observe the processing plane in different spectral ranges in real time and to precisely control the process. In some applications, it is also important to monitor the laser beam itself. Dichroic mirrors are used to separate the different laser wavelengths in this application and divide them up in the desired ratio.
These mirrors consist of layer stacks of transparent individual layers with alternatingly high and low refractive indices. LASER COMPONENTS produces these high-quality coatings by means of plasma ion assisted deposition (PIAD) and ion beam sputtering (IBS). The ultra-dense coatings are moisture-free and insensitive to temperature fluctuations. Dichroic mirrors are available in the wavelength range from 248 nm to 3000 nm for angles of incidence (AOI) of 0° or 45° with maximum reflectivity and a high laser-induced damage threshold (LiDT) with minimal thermal drift.
By controlling the coating process, we can tailor the coating design for your application, taking transmission/reflection ranges, wavelengths, AOI, and polarizations into account. We will be happy to advise you.
