U-L-M Photonics recently held a reception to mark the opening of their new production facility. The fab is now fully operational with 1,800 square meters of space, including 650 square meters of clean room. U-L-M Photonics was founded in 2000 and was acquired by Philips in 2006. The company is now the leading supplier for VCSELs used in the laser mouse for PCs, with over 20 million VCSELs delivered. U-L-M also offers a range of multi-mode and single-mode VCSEL used in automotive, telecom, sensing and spectroscopy applications. VCSELs are available from 760 nm to 980 nm and are shipped as bare die, or in a variety of package configurations.
