New CODIXX Polarizers for the 2-5 µm Range
The colorPol® MIR extends the outstanding properties of the well known colorPol® polarizers to the mid infrared wavelength range. Contrary to other polarizers for this wavelength range, the colorPol® MIR is an easy to use thin glass plate, provides very high contrast at a wide acceptance angle range and is very resistant against solvents, acids, and aggressive environments.
The use of elongated nano particles that show strong polarization dependent plasmon absorption enables extinction ratios of above 10,000:1 within the 2-5 µm wavelength range. Applications like substance detecting, thermography and medical applications require cost-efficient, reliable and powerful polarizers with handy form factor.
Combined with the well known properties of all colorPol® products like the high operating temperature range of -50°C up to +400°C, their resistance against UV radiation and extreme climate conditions permits the use under various conditions and in sophisticated applications.
CODIXX offers the colorPol® MIR in round, rectangular, and custom dimensions. Standard mounted options included 12.5, 12.7 (1/2"), 25.0 and 25.4 (1") mm diameters.
