The sterilizable fiber strippers “MediStrip“ were specially developed for laser medicine. With the help of these fiber strippers, the buffer of optical fibers can be safely removed. Fibers with a core diameter of 200 µm to 800 µm can be processed with different stripper models which all feature an easy-to-read laser marking on both sides for quick identification. Special knowledge of how to use the ergonomic strippers is not required.
The MediStrip is a real deal: Even after more than 100 sterilizations in an autoclave, this device has held up without exhibiting any problems and proven to be much more economically sound than disposable products. The exact process of sterilization has been clearly defined and validated. We were able to prove that after sterilization the MediStrip met the requirements of sterile products. The sterilization process is explained in the instruction manual that comes with each stripper.
The MediStrip is used, for example, during operations. Optical fibers can be easily prepared with a MediStrip (by stripping the outer buffer) and subsequently cleaved with optical quality.
