As a Quality Engineer at Laser Components Detector Group, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of our custom photodetector and photodiode manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement quality standards, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous quality enhancements throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management:
- Develop and implement quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of quality control processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Product Quality Assurance:
- Establish quality metrics and performance indicators to monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to implement quality controls and inspection procedures to detect and prevent defects.
- Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead investigations into quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints, employing root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying problems and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement preventive measures to mitigate quality risks and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their ability to meet quality requirements and specifications.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, collaborating to improve quality and resolve issues promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality-related data, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
- Prepare and present regular quality performance reports to management, highlighting trends, areas for improvement, and compliance status.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and best practices to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Champion quality awareness and provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards, processes, and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of electronic component principles, electronic component technologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in quality engineering or quality assurance roles within the manufacturing industry, preferably in electronic manufacturing and packaging.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.) and quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Proficiency in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for driving continuous improvement and delivering superior quality products.
