ZnSe Windows for CO₂ lasers

ZnSe windows (Type WNZ) are used as end elements or protective windows. Similar to cutting lenses, they are made exclusively with high quality "laser grade" material.

In addition to standard AR coatings for 10.6 µm, special coatings such as broadband ARs or dual-band ARs are available.

• Wedge: <3 arc min
• Surface figure: typ. λ/20 at 10.6 µm (depending on diameter/thickness ratio)

ZnSe Brewster Windows (Type WBZ) and ZnSe Enhanced Brewster Window (type EWBZ)

Brewster windows are used in polarization separation. If WBZ windows are installed below the Brewster angle (q= 67.4° for ZnSe), the p component is fully transmitted and approximately 50% of the s component is reflected per side. When using EWBZ windows, a special coating is applied to the front side of the window, which ensures that the reflection for s-pol is increased to >98%.
