Lenses for CO2 10.6µm lasers are primarily made of zinc selenide material. We use only ‘laser grade material’ for such optics, perfectly suited for high power applications. Focusing lenses, also known as ‘cutting lenses’, are available as meniscus and plano-convex with diameters from 0.5“ to 8“.
F-theta lenses are also part of our standard range of products. They are often used when working with Galvo systems. Here, meniscus or plano-convex lenses with a diameter of 48 mm are commonly used. The radii of the lenses are optimised to minimise aberrations of angular incident beams. In addition, a linear function between the incident angle and the position of deflection as well as a planar scan field are achieved. For economic reasons, single lenses are generally used. Assemblies that combine two lenses in order to optimise the image are also available.
These lenses are coated for 10.6 µm on a standard basis and thereby achieve a transmission of > 99.5% for single lenses and > 96% for lens systems.
More information can be found in our new catalogue on laser parts and accessories. A datasheet on F-theta lenses is available upon request.
