TRISTAN®-NIR High Performance InGaAs Infrared Spectrometer
TRISTAN®-NIR combines the latest sensor technology with specialised optical design. Thus the newest generation of InGaAs line detectors provide performance values that were unthinkable even 12 months ago. With this sensor improvement, m.u.t has developed an assembly-line product that enables the user to obtain top quality results.
The InGaAs detectors are actively cooled and temperature controlled, in order to provide optimum results. The temperature of the detector is stored for each individual measurement for reference and control purposes.
The TRISTAN-NIR is available in two configurations. The NIR-HR covers the spectral range from 900 nm to 1700 nm with a 5 nm resolution. The exNIR covers a broader spectral range from 1000 nm to 2200 nm which can be resolved to 15 nm.
Infrared detectors show increased noise levels for increased exposure times. Also short exposure times provide a measured signal that is so diminished that a very low signal-to-noise ratio results. m.u.t meets this challenge by using multiple short exposure times, the average of which is nearly free from noise.
In this way, with exposure times starting at 15 µs, 500-1000 exposure cycles can be executed in one second. Following USP standard 1119, the results in his exposure mode yield a dark noise of only 0.3%.
Each spectrometer is individually calibrated before it leaves our facility. The calibration data is stored in the equipment and is referenced automatically by the software for amplitude correction. As a result, the TRISTAN-NIR is capable of delivering results that are free from device influences.
The spectroscopy software package, TRIWin 3 PRO, is bundled with the purchase of every TRISTAN-NIR spectrometer. The intuitive Graphical User Interface serves to operate the spectrometer and also provides an unrivalled array of features.
Tristan Control is a COM component (Component Object Model) for easy communication of Windows software with Tristan spectrometers. This COM allows the customer to set the spectrometer parameters and to collect the data.
This tool offers the customer a high level of versatility when adding to their own Software environment. Tristan control is properly documented and comes with code samples.
In addition to performing transmission, absorption, and reflection measurements, TRIWin 3PRO allows the user to perform concentration measurements without any additional software. Advanced mathematics modules with statistical functions and 3-D representations provide further options for the analysis of measurement. m.u.t also offers an additional chemistry software bundle for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
