So-called protective windows are used as the last optic before the work area to protect high quality optics against material splatter while cutting, welding, and engraving. Here we are talking about inexpensive windows with a surface figure of 1 L and scratch-dig 60-40.
The protective windows are coated with an anti-reflex layer for the laser beam (in a YAG laser system the beam is usually 1064 nm). Upon request, an anti-reflection coating in the visible spectrum can also be applied for the pilot beam. The protective windows can be manufactured from BK 7 or quartz, depending on the power density of the laser.
LASER COMPONENTS offers protective windows for various well-known laser manufacturers. Two examples include AR/AR 1064 dia. 1.0" x 4 mm or AR/AR 1064 dia. 55 x 2 mm.
