PD-LD, Inc has introduced its next generation of Raman Laser sources, the Compact Raman Boxx. The newly-redesigned product’s smaller size (by a factor of four) will be better suited for OEM applications, where it can be integrated into systems requiring stabilised, narrow linewidth lasers with a convenient fibre-coupled output.
Based upon PD-LD’s long-term testing of the first generation Raman Boxx and proven track record, users have comfort with having full control of the laser, alleviating the need to design a laser control circuit.
The Compact Raman Boxx is a self contained unit with internal thermal compensation circuitry that, along with VBG® optical stabilisation, creates an ultra-stable laser output with respect to power and spectrum. Each assembly is built using VBG® stabilised semiconductor laser diodes.
The 785nm fibre coupled adjustable power modules will deliver up to 500mW and will operate from a 5VDC supply and USB control. Due to their small 76mm x 64mm x 18mm housing design, compact Raman systems can be designed especially where portability and low power consumption is required.
These, and other VBG® products, are used in pharmaceutical, medical, homeland security and petro-chemical applications.
