LASER COMPONENTS is pleased to announce two trend setting products: ruled and holographic wire grid polarisers produced by Optometrics LLC, offering an extensive wavelength coverage from 2 nm to 20 µm, inherently high damage threshold combined with extinction ratios greater than 40,000:1 achievable using a series of two polarisers. These solutions accept angles of incidence up to 45 degrees with collimated, diverging or converging beams without loss of efficiency and little lateral displacement of the transmitted beam. Ruled (1200g/mm) wire grid polarisers are on CaF2 or ZnSe substrates whereas holographic wire grid polarisers are produced using a fabrication process that permits the use of a wide variety of infrared materials that do not lend themselves to the ruling process. The holographic version also offers increased extinction ratio in the IR-region and optimum short-wavelength efficiency (2700 g/mm).
