The MBC-card is a bias controller OEM board especially designed to stabilise the operating point of LiNb03 Mach-Zehnder modulators. The MBC-card is assembled with a modulator and then preset and tested according end user specifications. Depending on the modulation format, the MBC-card is set on Min, Max, Quad+ or Quad-, or any point of the modulator transfer curve so as to fit with a broad variety of applications. Also available is the MBC-1000, a benchtop Modulator Bias Controller that allows the user to select and modify his own settings.
The maximum board height is 24 mm. If a connector such as a "KK serie 3069" is mounted the height increases to 27 mm. The whole product width remains within 100 mm and a 160mm length. The distance between the modulator edge and the electronic board edge is 30 mm (with 21.5mm for the fibre sleeve).
