Laser Diodes in the 1300 nm to 1700 nm Wavelength Range achieve Higher Power

SemiNex Corporation is the market leader of laser diodes in the 1300 nm to 1700 nm wavelength range with the chips packaged in bare bars, chip-on-submount, single-emitter and multi-chip fibre-coupled modules and hermetically sealed TO-can.

A proprietary material structure is used with a non-conventional doping profile, precise growth of Indium Phosphide and a unique application of quantum physics to result in superior thermal efficiency, electrical efficiency and very short coherence length light.

Standard wavelengths include 1470 nm, 1532 nm and 1550 nm with CW output optical power from 3 watts to 20 watts. The multimode diodes have small typical apertures of 95 µm with the fibre-coupled products typically having a 105 µm core fibre with 0.22 NA.

The long wavelength of 1470 nm close to the absorption peak of water and high power make them well suited for most medical applications purposes which include: wrinkle removal, acne reduction, soft tissue ablation. The 1532 nm and 1550 nm laser applications include laser designators, range finders and LIDAR.
