LASER COMPONENTS, who represent Optometrics USA, in Europe, report an expansion of the US company’s holographic grating capability, following the construction of two new holographic laboratories.
One is being used for R&D, the other for the production of holographic wire grid polarisers, in addition to master gratings for both spectroscopic and telecom applications.
In Raman Spectroscopy, for example, where signal-to-noise is critical, the inherent low stray light of a holographic grating is a distinct advantage.
Holographic wire grid polarisers are routinely produced on ZnSe, CaF2, BaF2, KRS-5 and Germanium.
