Quality Management systems require periodic inspection of the instruments used to quantify measurements, such as the physical units displayed on test and measurement equipment. In most circumstances these procedures need to be traceable, often back to recognisable international standards. Perhaps even more importantly for equipment used to determine the laser output power as eye safety is significantly important, it is the specific responsibility of user, and ultimately the Managing Director, to ensure that the measurement and test equipment is recalibrated regularly.
At our in-house calibration laboratory we have a calibration service available for laser power meters based on thermopile technology, and for all corresponding display units. The typical turnaround time for a calibration service at LASER COMPONENTS is less than a week. The service is designed to effectively act as a calibration laboratory for all Europe.
The calibration is based on American NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) calibration standards, and uses a calibration wavelength of 1064 nm, using calibrated power levels ranging from 30mW to 100W.
We would recommend that you check the validity of your calibration label on your measurement equipment just in case the equipment is due now for re-calibrating. If re-calibration is required, we would be pleased to provide a quotation.
