In addition to the wide range of avalanche photodiodes already available, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new APD modules. So advanced are these modules that even the smallest amount of light can be detected quickly and reliably. This quality is essential in data transmission, laser radars, rangefinders, or biomedical systems.
At the heart of our APD modules is a low-noise Si or InGaAs avalanche photodiode with a preamplifier and an integrated high voltage power supply. The built-in temperature compensation facilitates extremely reliable operation of this module at a constant gain across a wide temperature range.
The built-in InGaAs detector has a diameter of 200µm, which makes it possible to measure in the spectral range from 1000 nm to 1650 nm. Silicon versions, from 400 nm to 1100 nm, are available with integrated APDs of diameter of 500 µm to 1.5 mm. They offer a bandwidth from DC to 10 MHz.
As all the components are designed to fit inside a small, shielded metal housing (approx. 75 x 56 x 26 mm3), only a standard 12 VDC power supply is required for operation. Using these modules makes light work of measuring a few photons. OEM versions and customer-specific modules are available upon request.
