Successful entrepreneurs share their experience with the future generation. This is the basic idea behind the internal business competition at Olching High School. Sven Schreiber, Managing Director of LASER COMPONENTS Germany, volunteered as a coach and supported class 10b in their »Swap-Bag« project, a sustainable bag system with an interchangeable design that creatively combines environmental awareness and the desire for individuality.
In the course of their economics and law lessons, the 9th and 10th grade students not only developed the idea for an innovative product, but also a complete business model, from financing and setting up a company to a convincing marketing concept. This was where they were able to benefit from Schreiber's many years of management experience. The finished projects were pitched to a jury of local entrepreneurs and evaluated according to criteria such as innovative content, feasibility and persuasiveness, just like in the popular TV format »Höhle der Löwen«. The winning team will then compete against the winning teams from other schools in the district in May.
Even if it wasn't enough to win in the end, Sven Schreiber is still proud of »his« students: »It's impressive to see the creativity and seriousness of the young people's approach to their projects. Initiatives like this not only promote entrepreneurial thinking, but also strengthen self-confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills - skills that are indispensable in today's working world.«
