PM Bow Tie Zing Fibers

The fiber-based Zing polarizers allow only one polarization state to pass. This is due to the extreme birefringence caused by the bow tie geometry of the core.

Zing Fiber Polarizers

Zing is a fiber-based polarizer from Fibercore in which the bow tie geometry of the core produces a particularly strong birefringence. Only one polarization state is transmitted. Zing fibers always provide a wide and stable application window and a very good extinction ratio (PER) regardless of the degree of bending.

At a wavelength of 633 nm, the beat length of Fibercore’s Zing fiber is almost 0.5 mm. It offers a polarization bandwidth of 100 nm that is suitable for practical use. The width of this working window and the central wavelength can be adjusted by varying the fiber length and coil diameter accordingly.
