High Power Laser Diodes

High Power Laser Diodes - High-Power cw Laser Diodes in TO Package

The Tall-TO series with standard TO-9 package offers cw laser diodes up to 600 mW in a space-saving, compact design.

Tall-TO Series

The Tall-TO series combines high performance and space-saving design. Cw laser diodes with powers ranging from 300 mW to 650 mW are packaged in a tall TO-9 case with three pins. This allows for easy integration into any system. Their hermetically sealed housing protects the laser source from disruptive environmental influences. Aluminum nitride (AlN) with a gold-tin bond (AuSn) was chosen as the carrier material, which creates a thermal interface that guarantees optimum heat conduction.

The lasers of the Tall-TO series are available from stock in the following wavelengths: 785 nm, 830 nm, 975 nm, 980 nm and 1064 nm.

High Power Laser Diodes - Fiber-coupled High Power Laser Diodes

High power laser diodes in the spectral range from 405 nm to 1550 nm. Optical power: up to 55 W

In the range from 405 nm to 1550 nm, these high power laser diodes deliver an optical output power from a few mW to 55 W out of the fiber.

An optimum in optical and electronic performance is achieved using a unique alignment of fibers from 4 µm to 400 µm. The fibers not only feature an excellent coupling efficiency but also a long lifespan and the best beam performance available.

Connectors
The fiber tip is equipped with an optical FC, ST, or SMA connector.

High Power Laser Diodes - Edge Emitting High Power Laser Diodes

Singlemode and multimode high power laser diodes up to 30 W - spectral range: 635 nm - 1550 nm - on chips, submounts or in different housings.

LASER COMPONENTS offers a wide range of high power laser diodes. Both singlemode and multimode diodes are available in the wavelength range from 808 - 980 nm. The lasers are available as chips, on submounts (B, C, or D block), or in different housings (for example: 9 mm TO, HHL).

From the manufacture of laser diode chips with the next generation of MOCVD reactors to the housing component, the complete production process, which is certified according to ISO9001:2000, happens under one roof. Our products are, therefore, the first choice in edge emitting high power laser diodes, which are assembled on C mounts, in TO housings, and HHL housings. They ensure the best performance, quality, and reliability.

Innovative high power diodes in the 1470-1550 nm range with an output of up to 6 W are a new part of our product range.

High Power Laser Diodes - High Power Laser Diodes with Volume Bragg Grating

Pure wavelength precision – stabilized high power laser diodes with VBG.

The wavelength of a laser diode is easily stabilized when used together with volume bragg gratings (VBG) by PD-LD. At the same time, the FWHM value is reduced to <0.5 nm. The wavelength is stabilized with a precision of 0.5 nm and the issue of temperature is no longer critical (typically 0.01 nm/°C).

LuxxMaster™ laser diodes are delivered complete with VBG and collimating optics.

Standard wavelengths include 785 nm, 808 nm, and 976 nm with an optical output power of 1 – 3 W for single emitters and 20 – 40 W for bars. The stabilized laser diodes are mounted in 9-mm cans, in TO3 cans, or on C-mounts. The TO3 version is also available with a cooler.

Applications:

  • Highly efficient pumping of solid state lasers
  • Pumping of new lasers (e.g. thin disk lasers) that require a very narrow pump wavelength
  • Reducing or even eliminating the red shift caused by aging to increase the lifetime of a pump array
  • Sensor technology, chemical analysis, and certain medical applications that rely on exact center wavelengths.
