Hello, I am your new product engineer for laser optics.
LC: Who are you and what brought you to sales?
R. Sattler: As a master of physics student, I specialized in laser physics. I am familiar with the challenges faced by laser physicists daily from my many hours in the laboratory. After my studies, I went straight into sales because working with customers to develop solutions for highly complex applications was much more appealing to me. I have been working in international sales for more than seven years now.
Laser optics – Customer-specific solutions
LC: Compared to previous job experience, what strikes you or has struck you as particularly special about LC?
R. Sattler: What has particularly impressed me at my new company is the support provided to customers throughout the entire order process: from the inquiry to the individually manufactured product. This is an example of exceptionally high customer orientation and not just simple “catalog sales.” LC takes full advantage of its more than 30 years of experience in customer-specific coatings. Custom solutions are often manufactured as add-ons to regular coating runs. That is to say, mirrors for different wavelengths, for example, can be produced simultaneously. This pays off for the customer because specifications can be accounted for at affordable prices.
LC: What was your impression of the production facilities?
R. Sattler:LC does not swim with the tide, but sets its own trend. All other companies focus on outsourcing, and LC expands one production facility after another in Germany to guarantee quality and short delivery times. This is a major advantage. We have short decision-making chains and can respond flexibly to customers’ needs. Not to mention, of course, the highly-qualified employees and state-of-the-art production equipment available at LC’s fingertips.
LC: Finally, what sets LC apart?
R. Sattler: Everything comes from one source. Both large production quantities and single pieces can be manufactured. Both low-budget and high-quality items are available without sacrificing one for the other. The product range is vast, and the delivery network is large and well connected – which is sometimes still a challenge for me. We know what we are capable of, and that is quite a lot!
