Fast broadband internet and an international network: optical fibers have made it all possible. However, the rapidly increasing technological developments over the past few years have not yet made their way into the occupations that require vocational training – at least not in Germany.
Specialists today have taught themselves many of the practical skills they now possess. There is room for improvement here. Qualified personnel is still required for the planning, installation, maintenance, and operation of optical fiber lines. Both the bandwidths and the demands placed on all of the professional groups involved continue to increase. For example, did you know that expensive, high-bit-rate transceiver components can be destroyed – from dirt alone on the optical fiber connectors?
We are closing these gaps by offering seminars at low prices: either at our locations in Munich, Berlin, and Mönchengladbach or on site at your facility and in cooperation with our partner opconnect.
Joint seminars: More than 5200 participants have completed these seminars successfully
Joint seminars have been offered by opconnect since 1990. What began as an effort to accelerate the expansion of broadband technology in the former East German states is now a long-running topic. More than 60 top-level experts from research, education, and industry have participated as speakers: This also includes Laser Components’ own specialists Dr. Manzke, Dr. Hornsteiner, and Mr. Oellers. They have participated as regular guest speakers for 15 years and have continuously developed the contents of the seminars to include practical knowledge. Dr. Eberlein, the most well-known and renowned speaker in Germany, will be presenting on the technical background of optical fiber technology.
What to Expect
For example, participants can gain certification in basic fiber optic splicing as part of the seminar – at no extra charge!
This year we started “Practical Experience for Practical Applications” workshops: Splicing and measuring are all-day events addressing the subjects of how to organize your work station, the right tools, and correct handling.
