Precision lasers are laser modules, the beam axis of which is arranged parallel to the module’s housing. For mobile and independent application, a new version of these modules is now available: The LT-PLM-IRB series has a new integrated battery!
Due to production reasons, the beam axis and housing axis of conventional laser modules are not exactly parallel to one another. The minimal deviation does not have any bearing on most applications; however, there are some applications for which parallelism is extremely important: for example, if the laser is used to mirror a rotational axis, if it is used to align machines or axes, or if the laser is applied in the positioning of machines in fixed mounts and must, therefore, always hit the same spot.
For these specific requirements, LASER COMPONENTS has successfully made its LT-PLM series precision lasers available on a commercial basis for some time now. They consist of a precision laser with an M12 connection and a corresponding power supply or an external battery.
New: An integrated battery. This series has just been expanded to include a precision laser with an integrated battery. The optical properties correspond to the model with an M12 connection:
A laser with a wavelength of 635 nm – a bright, well-visible red – is used.
The optical power is 1 mW; thus, it is a class 2 laser. According to regulations, the application of this laser does not require any extra safety precautions!
A minimal beam angle error of 0.5 mrad remains: This corresponds to a deviation of ± 0.5 mm at 20 m.
Ten hours of continuous cable-free laser light: The integrated battery has a capacity of 400 mAh. This is enough for a duration of operation of ten hours. The mobility that comes with this independence from a power source increases significantly!
At a length of 130 mm and a diameter of 35 mm, this new precision laser with the designation LT-PLM-IRB-635-01 has a convenient size. It is available in stock together with the charger in a small, practical case.
