Laser Components has invested significantly over the past few years to meet the demands of our growing market: more orders can be processed with the same amount of personnel; in addition, customers not only receive their products as quickly as possible, but they are also able to track said products in a very detailed matter from the production facility.
IT infrastructure. To take complete advantage of the potential for productivity and cost savings as a result of state-of-the-art information technology, the IT infrastructure at Laser Components GmbH has been completely revamped in the past 1.5 years and an almost 100% virtualization environment created in the field of applications. At the same time, an SAN system for centralized data storage has been introduced to keep up with the vast increase in data in the future. This makes it possible to respond immediately to business demands and proactively support rapid company growth.
ERP / ECM. In addition, with the introduction of our document management system (DMS), the central ERP system was migrated and internal processes digitalized and modernized. For example, every week more than 200 incoming invoices are digitally recorded, automatically indexed, and automatically forwarded to the appropriate department for further processing. With the help of fully-automated workflows, the enterprise content management (ECM) system refers documents to the appropriate employee; the employee checks the document and gives final approval. In combination with the comprehensive search for and time-saving retrievability of all documents filed in the ECM system, Laser Components was able to save heavily on search and administrative costs. In the future, these systems will collaborate more closely to optimally support business processes.
