Dear Reader,
We have reported extensively in the past few issues on our facility expansions. Now that the last few construction workers have finished up the final details, it is time to turn our attention to our growing personnel. Here at the LASER COMPONENTS headquarters we have meanwhile reached a count of more than 90 employees. We have created 12 new jobs to date this year alone. The last time we saw such rapid growth was 10 years ago!
We have grown equally in all areas of the company – from administration to logistics to, of course, production. Our sales team has also welcomed additional members to its ranks, which is a logical development in light of ongoing and expected future growth. In the search for suitable specialists, we were confronted for the first time with the debated shortage in specialized workforce; however, we were able to fill our open positions without compromising on our high demands. This experience has led to internal discussion of increased on-the-job training programs for budding technical specialists, be it in the form of support for students writing their graduate theses or apprenticeships, internships, and the like. Long-term plans in this direction include the development of a human resources department. The incorporation of mechatronics in the current training program will be decided on in the coming days.
We have taken expansive measures because we are certain that our company headquarters will continue to be competitive on the global market in the future.
On that note, I would like to take this opportunity to say to all new employees at LASER COMPONENTS: “Welcome!”
Patrick Paul
