A survey showed that LASER COMPONENTS has a degree of recognition of 99% in the photonics industry. More than half of the interviewees knew that we are a distributor and that we manufacture products in house.

We see this number as a sign of our success in the communication policy we have followed over the past few years. When we began to expand our in-house production facilities, we had difficulty gaining recognition as players on the other field – even though we have been producing in house for the past 25 years. Ten years ago the amount of products manufactured in our own facilities was under 15%, and now the current business year will show a ratio of products manufactured in house of over 50%. The merging of different technological fields has been particularly advantageous for us, especially during the new developments we have made. In our work on the new COUNT single photon counting modules, our American subsidiary has supplied novel avalanche photodiodes and our coating department has worked to minimize optical signal losses in interface layers. The assembly, electronics, and connection of an optical fiber also occur in house.

This is also true for the new optical fiber series for high power applications presented in our main article.

Our R&D departments work permanently on innovative products. The best example of such a strategic development is the iAMP-700, which is the first product in a whole series introduced on page 8.

The most successful product developments are always those that are requested directly by customers.
