Dear reader,
This year’s highlight event – the LASER.World of Photonics – already promises to be a record-breaking trade show. We have made it our goal to exhibit a never-before-seen number of innovative components and, in addition, to provide information on the current trends and developments in the industry at our “Laser Components’ Workshops,” which have meanwhile become a tradition at the LASER. Details on these developments can be found in this edition.
Again this year, we expect to receive a considerable number of experts from our suppliers’ production and R&D departments in addition to our own technical specialists, and hope to be able to welcome you to our booth for a professional exchange.
The recent events in Japan have affected us all very deeply and shown us the almost unimaginable force nature possesses. As many of our customers have requested a statement on the effect of these events, we take the liberty of providing a few comments from a business point of view. Although a majority of the laser diodes produced and sold by the Laser Components Group is manufactured in Asia (our main supplier, Arima Laser Corporation, is located in Taiwan, for example), the earthquake has not affected the availability of optoelectronic components that we know of. We are in constant contact with our partners in Japan and will inform you immediately if this situation changes.
We look forward to seeing you at the LASER trade show in Munich!
Sincerely,
Patrick Paul
