Classic 1064 nm RIO PLANEX Lasers

RIO’s external cavity lasers are the best choice for all applications which require particularly narrow-banded beams with a narrow line width. Based on the patented PLANEX planar technology, a laser is now available for the first time with the classic 1064 nm YAG wavelength. Its greatest advantages for applications in communications, LIDAR, metrology, sensor technology, and research include low noise, narrow line width (15 kHz), and long coherence length. With its compact housing and industrial-standard electrical connections, existing designs can be easily integrated.

The PLANEX laser consists of an amplification chip and a planar waveguide (PLC) with a Bragg grating. The coupling of these components forms a cavity with significant advantages: an output power of up to 20 mW, very low RIN, low phase noise, and very low wavelength sensitivity to bias current and temperature.
