Management Laser Components Detector Group Inc.

Passing the Baton at the Detector Group

At the beginning of the year, Dr. Raj Chakraborty took over management of the LASER COMPONENTS Detector Group from co-founder Dragan Grubisic. Chakraborty has more than 24 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. At several U.S. Fortune 500 companies, his primary roles were in engineering, production, and senior management. Prior to joining the Detector Group in 2018, he led an interdisciplinary team of about 300 people as senior vice president of operations at Intel.

Dr. Sina Malobabic

Process-oriented Development Projects

Dr. Sina Malobabic will be leading process development in the future. After studying physics and mathematics, she specialized in optical technologies as a doctoral scholar at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. and started as a development engineer at LASER COMPONENTS GmbH in 2016. Now she is taking over responsibility for technology-oriented task areas. In addition to optical coatings, substrate handling, and in-process measurement technology, she is responsible for measurement technology for optoelectronic components such as laser modules and detectors. As a lecturer, she gives lectures on technical mechanics at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Dr.-Ing. Barbara Hopf

Product-related Developments

Dr. Barbara Hopf has been entrusted with management of product development. During her engineering studies at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, she specialized in the field of fiber technology. In 2019, she received her doctorate from the Technical University of Munich with an award-winning thesis on Bragg gratings in so-called panda fibers. In the same year, she joined LASER COMPONENTS as a development engineer. In addition to fiber technology, her responsibilities include new development and optimization of optoelectronic components such as laser modules and detectors.
