Ribbon Splicers

Cladding-centered fiber splicer for rollable ribbons and ribbons of up to 12 fibers. The robust device is particularly suitable for outdoor use.

Fiber ribbon splicer S124M

By exchanging the V-grove, Furukawa Electric's FITEL S124M12 is quickly converted from a single-fiber solution to a ribbon splicer. Using the respective fiber guides, it supports ribbons with 2, 4, 8 or 12 fibers and coatings of both 200 µm and 250 μm. It can also be used to process rollable ribbon cables.

Splicing times of 13 to 15 seconds make this robust device the best choice for outdoor use in infrastructures with high data throughput, such as data centers, metro networks and 5G roll-outs. In these fields, operators are increasingly relying on multi-fiber cables and especially on rollable ribbons. But the FITEL S124M12 can also be used to splice single fibers.

A touchpad with a user-friendly interface and the automatic fiber correction improve the efficiency of on-site work. The W-LAN option offers additional possibilities for easy control and data transmission.
