Infrastructure sensors are integrated into fiber-optic remote monitoring systems and use existing fiber-optic cables for signal transmission. Up to 80 sensors can be connected in series via a single fiber. This chain, depending on the dynamic range of the OTDR used, can be up to 100 km long. These maintenance-free components are, therefore, not only ideally suited for monitoring wide area networks but for use in data centers and metro and enterprise environments as well.
Resistant to inteference:
- No power connection necessary
- No GSM/wireless technology
- Insensitive to electromagnetic interference transmitters
- No spark generation due to induction currents
- Cannot be detected/impaired from outside with a jammer
The sensors can be configured for shaft and door monitoring, as water detectors (water penetration alarm), and as an early warning in case of fire.
In terms of KRITIS legislation for telecommunications (as well as water and energy supply), this is an ideal tool for prevention in accordance with required prevention and certification regulations.
